We're Kim & Kyle, two millennial moms in Chicago who got very, very into needlepoint and mahjong and then decided other people should suffer with us.
Windy City Hobby House started the way most obsessions do: one of us picked up a needle, the other picked up a mahjong rack, and neither of us has stopped since. Turns out "modern hobbyist" is just a nicer way of saying "person who now has opinions about thread count and tile sets and will absolutely bring it up at dinner."
We design and sell printable patterns, stitch guides, mahjong gifts, mahjong mats, painted canvases, and finishing accessories. All the stuff we wished existed when we were starting out, designed by people who actually do the hobby, not just sell it.
